The Industrial Training is compulsory to all undergraduate students and as part of the curriculum in Chemical Engineering program in order to produce graduates who are capable, confident and competent. During the industrial training, the students will be placed at any selected organizations and industries for 12 weeks in which they will be exposed to the real world of the industrial environments. The industrial training will provides the students the opportunities to enhance their theoretical understandings and make connections with the practical aspects of chemical engineering. This exposure shall enable the students to prepare themselves for future career endeavor.
Students with diploma and working experience prior to continuing their study at bachelor level is allowed to request for exemption from taking the industrial training.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the industrial training are as follows:
expose the students to the dynamic working environment;
- apply the academic knowledge in managing workplace challenges
- acquire working experience and develop intellectual knowledge
- build effective interaction and communication skills at all levels
- promote teamwork spirit
- practice good ethical values and work conduct
- establish the university-industry collaboration
- educate the students in writing technical report
