INATEX 2016 (GOLD MEDAL AWARD)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

On the 4th<\/sup> -6th<\/sup> October 2016 held an Industrial Art and Technology Exhibition (INATEX) in Dewan Sultan Iskandar (DSI) UTM. It is a R&D exhibition that showcases UTM inventions and innovations organised by Research Management Centre (RMC) held. Our group of researchers from FoBerg, headed by Dr. Dayang Norulfairuz Abang Zaidel has entered the exhibition with a new product invention of Meal-2-Heal Designed Food for Emergency Relief.<\/p>\n

A brief about the product; Meal-2-Heal is a ready-to-eat food that provide energy and complete nutrient to the victims during emergency\/disaster period which during that time are prone to disease, infection and also malnutrition especially during the first week. This is a patented technology and a trademark for Meal-2-Heal. Combinations of food processing technologies give great impact on the preservation of nutritional qualities (e.g. antioxidant, mineral, carbohydrate, protein) of Meal-2-Heal product and prevent from chemical and enzymatic reactions which may degrade the vitamins, color and flavor. The Meal-2-Heal product is unique in terms of its multi-function that can be consumed either directly as snacks, energy bar or mix with room temperature water (as porridge) for less than 3 min preparation.<\/p>\n

The judging were based on different aspects such as novelty, inventiveness, usefulness and also commercialisation potential of a product\/technology. By the end of the exhibition the results were announce and we won GOLD MEDAL AWARD.<\/p>\n

Once again, a big congratulation to Dr. Dayang and fellow researchers; Prof. Dr. Ida Idayu Muhammad, Dr. Zulkifli Khair, Dr Yanti Maslina Mohd Jusoh, Dr. Eraricar Salleh, Thaibah Ali, Norhayati Pa\u2019e, Mohd harfiz Salehuddin and Azni A.Aziz for all the hard work and effort that has been given.<\/p>\n
