IBD Laboratory Services successfully maintained the accreditation status of ISO\/IEC 17025<\/p>\n

JOHOR BAHRU, 10 September 2018 \u2013 IBD Laboratory Services of Institute of Bioproduct
\nDevelopment UTM has successfully maintained accreditation certificate after reassessment audit for
\nanother 3 years until 27 August 2021. IBD Laboratory Services headed by the Quality Manager,
\nAssoc. Prof. Dr Chua Lee Suan and the Head Department of Analytical Unit, Mrs. Siti Hajar Mat Sarip
\nwith competent ISO team aimed to improve the ability to consistently produce valid results and
\nachieved satisfaction to customer needs.
\nISO\/IEC 17025 is the main standard used for testing and calibration laboratories. The standard
\nenables laboratories to demonstrate that they operate competently and generate valid results,
\nthereby promoting confidence in their work both nationally and around the world. Skim Akreditasi
\nMakmal Malaysia (SAMM) is administered by Department of Standards Malaysia under the Ministry
\nof Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC). The mechanisms
\naccepted for this recognition through the framework of the International Laboratory Accreditation
\nAgreement (ILAC) and the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (APLAC) framework.
\nSAMM ISO 17025 accreditation for IBD Laboratory Services started with compliance accreditation on
\n27 August 2009 for proximate analysis, microbiology analysis and water analysis. Following the
\nsuccess of Bionexus Partner award in 2011, IBD laboratory Service extended its scope of
\naccreditation in metabolite analysis for cordycepin and eurycomanone compound determination. In
\n2015 another extension of scope was granted for beneficial microbe analysis in soil and fertilizer. IBD
\nLaboratory Services along with the rest of the other ISO17025 accredited laboratories is now in
\ntransition period towards ISO 17025:2017.<\/p>\n
