Professor Ika Dewi Ana, DDS., PhD is a professor at the Department of Dental Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and Head of the Collaborative Research Centre for Biomedical Scaffolds under Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Her research focuses on calcium phosphate chemistry, tissue engineering, drug and vaccine delivery systems, and regenerative therapy, including projects such as the MicroLung (SEA-Europe) and BioTUNE (MSCA 2020–2024) consortia. She has developed several CHA-based biomedical products—three already commercialized and two in progress—and holds 18 patents and 8 international book chapters. Professor Ana has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Habibie Prize (2022), WIPO National Award for Inventor (2023), and Asia Best Innovation Award (2024), and serves on the TERMIS-AP Council. With an h-index of 21, she is recognized as a leading figure in biomaterials and regenerative medicine research in Indonesia.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Ida Idayu Muhamad is a professor at the Department of Bioprocess and Polymer Engineering, Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and currently serves as the Director of UTM Pagoh Campus. She is a senate member of UTM and a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. Previously, she held key leadership roles including Chair of the Research Ethics Committee, Head of the Biomaterial Cluster for the IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre, and Director of the Bioprocess Engineering Department (2010–2013, 2015–2017). A recipient of the Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) award, she has produced over 20 intellectual properties, supervised more than 40 postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers, and published extensively in high-impact journals and books. Her multidisciplinary research focuses on controlled release technology, bioactive and drug delivery systems, and functionalized nanomaterials with applications in food, packaging, bioprocessing, and healthcare. She has collaborated with industry through multi-year research and training programs for over 30 companies, emphasizing sustainable and hygienic manufacturing practices. A Professional Technologist, Chartered Engineer (IChemE, UK), and Chartered Scientist, she also serves on the editorial board of the Springer Journal of Food and Bioprocess Technology, and has been recognized among the world’s top 2% scientists (Elsevier–Stanford) for the years 2023 and 2024 in her field.
