Empowering Green Finance Professionals Through UTM–Asian Banking School Collaboration
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has partnered with the Asian Banking School to advance sustainable development within the financial sector through the Green Financing Advisor Courses. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to equipping banking professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to support environmentally responsible investments and decision-making.
The Green Financing Advisor Courses cover a range of critical topics designed to align financial practices with sustainability goals. Key areas include Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Green Manufacturing, and Green Building. In addition, the programme addresses broader environmental considerations such as pollution management and biodiversity conservation, with emphasis on both flora and fauna.
Supporting this initiative, several distinguished staff members from UTM’s Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering (FKT) serve as trainers. These include PM Ts. Dr. Ho Wai Shin, Prof. Ir. Dr. Haslenda Hashim, PM Dr. Zarina Ab Muis, and Dr. Alafiza Yunus. Their expertise and contributions play an important role in delivering high-quality training and fostering greater awareness of sustainable practices within the banking industry.
Through this collaboration, UTM and the Asian Banking School aim to strengthen the role of financial institutions in driving the transition toward a greener and more sustainable future.
