FKT Staff Promote Cultural Heritage Through Silat Training
In an effort to preserve and promote Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, staff from the Faculty of Computing and Technology (FKT) have taken the initiative to teach silat, a traditional Malay martial art, to students and the faculty community.
This initiative is led by Dr. Azizul Azri bin Mustaffa, a qualified and certified instructor who has been officially appointed as a trainer and supervisor for silat training. His expertise and dedication ensure that the knowledge is delivered authentically while upholding the values and traditions of this cultural art form.
Through structured training sessions, participants are introduced to the fundamentals of silat, including discipline, self-defense techniques, and respect for heritage. Beyond physical training, the sessions also emphasize moral values such as respect, perseverance, and unity.
By offering silat training, the faculty aims to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of Malaysia’s traditional arts among the younger generation. This effort also serves as a platform to strengthen community bonding and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.
Overall, this initiative highlights FKT’s holistic approach to education—nurturing not only intellectual growth but also cultural awareness and personal development.
