Energy

i) E-SMART energy monitoring and energy reporting

ii) Solar Photovoltaic

FCEE has practice green initiative to generate renewable energy, three solar photovoltaic (PV) system has been installed at the main administration building, N01a. The solar PV system is rated at 1 kW each with a total of 3 kW and is expected to generated up to 13.5 kWh of electricity. The electricity generated is used to light up lightings along the corridors of N01a. The system is supported by the national grid to ensure reliability of lightings when the solar PV could not fully support the energy demand. An energy storage system (battery) is also installed to store excess electricity generated by the solar PV to be used at another time.

iii)Movement Sensor for Automated Lighting

As a measure for energy conservation, FCEE has installed movement sensors to switch off lights when no individual is around. The light will be switched on when movement is detected. FCEE has installed movement sensor along the corridor of N01 and all the washrooms around the faculty.
