About IBA-SUMBio22

Welcome to IBA-SUMBIo22! We are proud to announce that this is the first  International Bioprocessing Association (IBA) conference on challenges of utilization and management of bioresources, hosted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in collaboration with Universidad Autonoma de Cuahuila (UADEC), Mexico. 

This conference will be conducted fully on-line. Researchers, policy-makers, academics, students and the broader community interested in discussing the latest research techniques in enhancing relationships related to sustainable use and management of biological resources to share their knowledge and visions for the future.

Chairman IBA-SUMBio22

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainul Akmar Zakaria

is from the School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He currently holds the position of Associate Chair at the School as well as heading the UTMBactec Research Group where he works on biomass valorization and microbial technology.

Prof. Cristóbal Noé Aguilar

is the vice-chancellor of Research and Postgraduate Programs at Autonomous University of Coahuila, México. He is Chemist (1992) by the same institution; his MSc Program in Food Science and Biotechnology (1995) was held in the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, México. His PhD Program in Fermentation Biotechnology (2000) was given by the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Mexico.

Interactive Scientific Writing Workshop at IBA-SUMBIO22

(7 & 9 Aug 2022)

An interactive scientific writing and skill development workshop will be conducted for MS, PhD and early career researchers attending IBA-SUMBIO22 (8-10 August 2022). This workshop will be facilitated online by Eldon R. Rene (PhD) from the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (The Netherlands).

The workshop is designed in such a way to provide a high level of active interaction and training on the following skills: scientific writing/revising a manuscript, data interpretation, peer-reviewing, etc, for SCI (Q1) journals.

The participants will also work individually as well as in groups to create an outline for their research or review paper. This workshop will also include a special copyediting session on the preparation of tables, figures, research highlights, graphical abstracts, cover letters, etc.
