Food and Biomaterial Engineering Research Group

Food and Biomaterial Engineering Research Group (FoBERG) is a research group that focuses on the areas of food and biomaterial engineering in the School of Chemical & Energy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Professor Dr. Ida Idayu Muhamad, founded FoBERG in 2001. Initially, this group was composed of two staff and five students and now have grown to seven staff and more than 20 students. FoBERG was officially registered as a research group and recognised by the university since 2016.

FoBERG main laboratory is located in N29 Building, Lengkok Suria, School of Chemical & Energy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, 81310, Skudai, Johor Bahru, Johor ,meanwhile our FoBERG R&D Office is located in N05 Building which is placing our commercialized innovations and healthy food. Our members have been conducting studies in various Biopolymers/Biomaterial and Food Engineering fields, as demonstrated by our achievements in many publications and awards.
