Prof. Dr. Ida Idayu!

for winning Research Grant from KPTM under Program Transformasi Luar Bandar (NBOS 4)

Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Ida Idayu Bt Muhamad for her research project “Penghasilan minyak pati serai wangi dan aplikasi nanokapsul anti-serangga” that has won research grant from Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (KPTM) under National Blue Ocean Strategy 4 (NBOS 4), Rural Development Transformation Program (PTLB). This program is aims to transform rural areas in order to attract private investment, provide jobs and economic activity and encourage the younger generation serves the nation.

In order to obtain this grant, All project proposals should focus on rural communities with the outcome and impact NBOS line with the principles as follows:

  1. HIGH IMPACT
    • Program / Project proposed impact / high success to the target group.
  2. LOW COST
    • The cost to implement the project / program is lower than with conventional methods using traditional / customary practice.
  3. RAPID EXECUTION
    • Project / Program can be implemented with immediate effect and impact of the project / program can be achieved quickly.
  4. SUSTAINABLE
    • Project / Program can be implemented continuously by the target group.

Dr. Ida is currently the Head Department of Bioprocess & Polymer Engineering, Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering. She has been with the department since 1997 in UTM.

Dr Ida’s main research and consultancies are in modeling of particulate food systems, biopolymer processing, active and intelligent packaging, also implementation and auditing on industrial food safety systems (ghp, cgmp & haccp).
