On 4th November 2016, Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has organized Academic Research Exhibition (ACADREX 2016) which was held in conjunction with UTP 16th convocation ceremony. It is a annual activity with varying theme every year. 2016’s ACADREX brought about a first for this exhibition as this year is a first or it was to be open only for women researchers. Themed “Empowering Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)”, ACADREX 2016 has 30 participation from different researchers accros the country. Only 20 were shortlisted from 30 participations.
CLEAR (Centre of Lipids Engineering and Applied Research), a centre of excellence from FCEE has sent 4 participations for ACADREX 2016 and one of it has won first place for the innovation competition.
The 4 projects that CLEAR showcased during the ACADREX 2016 includes 3 projects from Assoc. Professor Dr. Siti Hamidah Mohd Setapar and one from Assoc. Professor Dr. Mohd Azizi Che Yunus presented by Dr Lee Nian Yian

It is Assoc Prof Dr Siti Hamidah’s project “Tocopherol and Omega Rich Roselle Seed Oil (RSO)” that has won the first prize for the competition at which they were awarded URIF Grant worth RM 50, 000.
