Challenge yourself and prove that you can endure challenges of studying in a higher degree. Industry and academia looks highly to graduate engineers/students who have postgraduate qualifications (i.e. PhD, M.Sc or M.Eng). FChE offer PhD, M.Sc or M.Eng programs (either a research based or taught course) in various chemical engineering related disciplines. At FChE, the postgraduates will be trained to develop specific skills/knowledge in specific research area.
FChE provide platform to develop YOUR generic skills
Postgraduate scheme at FChE allows graduate engineers/student to develop their generic skills. Through a structured program at FChE, the postgraduate students will be trained to develop the following generic skills:-
- Time management skills
- Ability to utilize high-value information and to interpret experimental data
- Communication, writing and presentation skills
We will send our postgraduates to academic conferences, train them to work independently and strongly encourage them to publish their findings in a peer-reviewed-journal to enhance their generic skills.
FChE ranked among the top 150 in QS WORLD RANKING!
UTM Chemical Engineering programme secured the top 150 spot in world rankings, and is the top 20 chemical engineering school in ASIA. The ranking is based on academic peer review (30%) employability (30%) and citation (40%).
FChE also houses various institutes and centers of excellence. These include the Institute of Bioproduct Development, IBD (formerly known as Chemical Engineering Pilot plant, or CEPP), Process Systems Engineering Centre (PROSPECT), Centre for Life Sciences and Applied Engineering Research (CLEAR) and the Institute of Hydrogen Economy (IHE).
FChE Postgraduate society
A society that is formed and lead by FChE postgraduates. Besides organizing annual leisure and sport activities, they also share tips and provide help to solve problems related to students welfare and research work. They ensure that whilst undergoing the postgraduate study, FChE postgraduate students should also enjoy their time at FChE and UTM.
FChE have a good relation with Industry and connected worldwide
For years, FChE has maintained a good relation with industry particularly with multinational oil and gas giants like EXXON-MOBIL, SHELL, PETRONAS, BP and Schlumberger. These multinational companies employ chemical engineering postgraduates to fill key positions as technologist in their R&D organizations and reward them handsomely to make sure these graduates look no further for career advancement.
FChE also are linked with top universities all over the world e.g. Technical University of Denmark (DTU), University of Birmingham, University of Newcastle, Technical University of Delft, and many more, This open up opportunities for potential postgraduate projects (i.e. a joint project between two universities) and a change to go for a short research stay abroad (i.e. for less than a year period).
