logo-amtec-big-iii2Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC), previously known as Membrane Research Unit (MRU) was established in 1990 in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Campus (UTMKL). Upon the organisation restructuring, the research unit has been moved to UTM Skudai in 2002. In 2008, AMTEC has been upgraded as one of the centres of excellence (CoE) in UTM. clearCentre of Lipids Engineering and Applied Research (CLEAR) was established in the late 1987 to undertake research in process engineering and technology of palm oil and oleochemical processes. Our research is classified into three areas; process development, product development, and infrastructural development. mprc-utmUTM-MPRC Institute for Oil & Gas founded in 1997 is a centre of excellence that specializes in areas of training and courses, research and development, consultancy, and services. This centre has been placed under Resource Sustainability Research Alliance. At present, UTM-MPRC Institute for Oil & Gas has five key research fellows, two associate members and 30 post-graduate students. UTM-MPRC Institute for Oil & Gas has successfully made collaboration with local agencies. prospect2UTM-PROSPECT was established on 12th January 2007 after being approved by the Senate and University Board of Management. It was later approved by Ministry of Higher Education on 29 November 2007. UTM-PROSPECT is located at Block N29, Faculty of Chemical & Energy Engineering, UTM Johor Bahru, Malaysia. che-utmCentre of Hydrogen Energy (CHE) was formerly known as Institute of Hydrogen Economy (IHE). It was founded in the second half of 2009 after more than two decades of experience in dealing with hydrogen, fuel cell and variety of related research areas including but not limited to polymer electrolytes, hydrogen production, storage and dispensing, fuel cell vehicle, power conditioning and prototyping. The institute undertakes technology development, standards and support services not only on hydrogen energy but also the entire domain of the economy as well policies associated with hydrogen as future fuel. Among others, the institute focuses on the development of hydrogen production and purification system, materials for hydrogen storage system, design and prototyping of various application systems, testing and standardizations, and economic, social as well as policy related studies.
