GREENTECH

Green technology research covers a broad and growing range of topics. The present expectation is that this field will bring innovation and changes in daily life of similar magnitude to the “information technology” explosion over the last two decades. Technology advancements in environmental technologies are in line with the Malaysia government’s long term vision to help build a greener, more energy efficient and sustainable nation.

Our research group has enriched experiences with affiliations from a diverse group of people; both in their level of experience and field of interest. Currently, the group are conducting several research projects to advance the development, implementation and application of environmental technologies which are broadly defined as technologies that reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and waste in manufacturing. Among our research scopes are:

  • Innovative Treatment Processes towards Zero Discharge
  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
  • Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Projection and Reduction
  • Sustainable Municipal Solid Waste Management
  • Sustainable Industrial and Municipal Wastewater Treatment

Research Areas

  • Bioassays for efficacy, toxicity and structure-function studies of herbs for medicinal and cosmeceutical applications.
  • Development of specific hybridoma cultures for bio-diagnostic/biotherapeutic applications.
  • Stem cells for Wound Therapy.
  • In vitro biocompatibility studies for biomedical implants.
  • ‘In vivo’ preclinical bioassays using zebrafish and micemodels.
