In this laboratory, students are given the chance to gain hands on experience in downstream bioprocessing. This lab is intended for FChE Bioprocess Engineering final year (or 3rd year) students. This laboratory course will assist students to consolidate their fundamental understanding in unit operations involved in downstream processes of biological products. Among the experiments performed are aerobic microbial (yeast) fermentation, cells immobilization, filtration (micro and ultra), cells homogenization, protein precipitation and enzyme kinetic study.
