MASTER OF SCIENCE (M.Sc) IN SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT (SHE)
The Master of Science in Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) is a Taught Course program that is suitable for graduates from science, technology and engineering disciplines. The program provides an opportunity for practitioners from broad backgrounds to enhance their technical knowledge and skills in SHE management. In return, students will develop abilities to manage issues related to safety, health, and environment effectively and ethically. The program covers important aspects of Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental Protection, Process Safety Management (PSM) and Prevention through Design (PtD). Each module is conducted by experts from the academia and the industry. The candidates are also required to solve industrial problems through SHE Project I & II with proper supervision by experienced researchers from FCEE, UTM.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)
PEO1 | To be trained in the field of plant safety and environment. Therefore, it will improve the quality of the environment and the operation of the plant as required by law in addition to providing a working environment that is healthy and comfortable to the employees. |
PEO2 | To be knowledgeable on the application of Safety, Health and Environment in the field of employee management, concept and business strategy, the use of computers and the latest technology to analyze and interpret data and information. |
PEO3 | To be able to highlight their skills and expertise in reviewing documents and explain how to make decisions relating to Safety, Health and Environment from theoretical concepts to real industrial applications. |
PEO4 | Graduates of this degree program have the knowledge and can solve the problem of Safety, Health and Environment using the correct methodology. |

Entry requirement
- Candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree in any field of science, technology or engineering with CGPA at least 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent) from Recognised Higher Learning Institution. For those having CGPA less than that, Appendix B of UTM entry qualification will be followed.
- Candidates with other academic backgrounds must have at least 3 years minimum working experience in the field of safety, health or environment.
